Around $12 I think it's a good deal. If you're comfortable taking apart electronics, you can mod the kinect yourself to use standard USB 3.0 and a power plug without having to buy the adapter. I just did this last night on my Kinect and so far it seems to work. I still need to calibrate though.
If I had to choose one purely for kinect, I would probably look for a well kept og xbox model if you can find one. I do already have the og xbox one and one x with kinect adapter/kinect. The kinect adapter is annoying because it needs an extra outlet to be plugged in and also uses up one of the 3 usb ports on the one x.

Have to unplug and plug in everytime and hard reboot to get kinect to work again. My Kinect doesn't turn on when I turn on my Xbox One X. I need to unplug it and plug it in again and full reboot my Xbox One X for Kinect to be recognised. I tried connecting my Kinect to my original Xbox One and it works everytime with or without the adapter.
