It's part like a strategy game when you move on the map, recruit and organize troops, accept quests, trade, build relationships, etc. And it is part RPG with character gearing, leveling up skills and proficiencies, fighting actual battles, eventually becoming a mercenary for some ruler or a ruler yourself.

Bannerlord has a mainstory while basic its still a story. The only think i really like about warband over bannerlord is probably spears. Spears weren't complete garbage.
