5.7L or 6.4L noise level inside car. This past week, my wife and I went and test drove a new 2015 SRT 392. It is an amazing car, loaded with Uconnect and lots of features. The version we drove was the 6 speed manual. It was very responsive and had tons of power. I had a '13 Dodge Durango R/T (5.7) and it started making that exact sound at 30K miles. Was indeed a failing water pump and they replaced it under warranty. Said it was a known issue with Hemi engines, but I haven't seen any Challengers (besides you) have issues. 2014 DODGE// CHALLENGER R/T. 100th Anniversary Edition. You are comparing apples to shoes, almost. Part of the reason for moving from solid/mechanical lifters was to reduce/eliminate valve train noise.
Ram trucks now use the 5.7 Hemi engine, thanks to its efficiency and ability to generate more power. Because the combustion in Hemi engines is fast, vehicles fitted with the engine show fast acceleration and can even produce the sound almost as that of a V8. If you enjoy a powerful car for racing or towing cargo, you can go for a 5.7 Hemi engine.

All the 5.7's have fuel injectors that make a ticking sound when they pulse, but that won't go away as long as the engine is running. 243 posts · Joined 2017. #9 · Sep 21, 2020. It's normal to hear ticking after doing a cam install. The lifters will need to fill up with oil and the ticking will subside. Before my engine dropped a valve, I heard ticking from the lifters. After rebuilding my engine, it still ticks just as loud as before. A Chrysler “Hemi Tick” lawsuit alleges that several vehicles with Gen III 5.7-L or 6.4-L Hemi 392 V8 engines experience bucking, surging, misfires, rough idling, ticking noises and engine failures. According to the lawsuit, the Chrysler HEMI engines experience failures of the camshafts and lifters, and ultimately lose power while driving. Hey guys, I just picked up a 2017 Challenger rt, and while I love the tone of the stock exhaust, I would prefer it a little louder. My main concern is losing some of that deep tone that makes this 5.7 Hemi sound so sweet. That along with getting a little raspy as well.
