if you are planning to farm in Drizzlewood or Dragonfall for an extended period of time, i would definitely recommend having a griffon. it gets you across the map fast especially in uneven terrain like those 2 maps, which allows you to keep up with the commander and tag events. yes, skyscale can do the same but it is relatively slower, especially if you start to lose altitude or run out of

As for the Mastery points - there's more points available than needed, and you can master every mount fully.Some are easier to get than others, and some actually require flying mounts to get, but not a lot of them. Don't neglect your Crystal Champion mastery track, it's SUPER helpful in getting the Skyscale. The answer is Yes. While many blow up Skyscale to be the be 'the best' mount, I far prefer Griffon in many situations, but both are equally useful when used properly.
